Stuart Pond Description

Stuart Pond has also been known as Washington Bond, Ross Mill Pond, and Stump Pond in the past. It is part of a chain of water supplies formerly controlled by the Metropolitan District Commission. It is artificial in origin and is open to the public by agreement with the owner. Area: 38 acres. Maximum depth; 9 feet. No trout water. No boat livery. Easily accessible from East Princeton center via Stuart Road and Justice Hill Road Cutoff. Not a big pond by any means. Very shallow and very weedy. Several fishing spots are available off Lucas Rd. but I have had the most luck fishing off the bridge on Justice Hill Cutoff. There is also a small part of Stuart Pond on the opposite side of the bridge. Pond access is limited due to houses around the pond. The fishing areas off Lucas Rd also provide space to launch a canoe or other roof top boat.
