South Meadow Pond Fishing Report

South Meadow Pond - 8-16-2014

Hit the pond at 0545 with the sun just starting to light things up. I have been eyeballing this pond all week anticipating a good outing and hoping the bass would cooperate. Paddled my kayak for awhile hitting what looked like good bass spots. Caught a few small bass. When the sun got bright and I started to work the coves, you could see bait fish swirling here and there. What really disappointed me about this series of ponds (South Meadow and Mossy Pond) was the evidence of human ignorance all over the place. Garbage bags in the backs of coves, floating noodles, various articles of clothing, beers cans on the bottom.... what was once probably a beautiful place has turned into something that isn't so nice anymore. It's a shame too....don't get me wrong, there are some nice stretches here and there, but when you see trash in the water in one place, it kind of ruins it for the rest. - Personally, I won't be going back.....
