Reeds Pond, Rockland, MA

Went out on my canoe at 5PM tonight. Started near the island with a variety of baits and got nary a nibble. I worked my way over to the far western shore and found a couple of small lily pad fields. I whipped a top water BooYah 1/4oz Cricket Frog into one of them, let it sit for 10 seconds and WHAM! A 3LB Largemouth smoked it. Both hooks deep down its throat. Luckily I had a good hook removal tool and got them out pretty quick. The water is alot deeper than I thought it was there and the visibility is less than a foot.

Comments

  • Yes it is Studleys. Everyone I've ever known calls it Reeds.

  • Is Reeds just another name for Studley? Fished it a few years ago and never made it back. Been meaning to drop the yak in there someday.
