Jacobs Pond 04/05/13

Caught my first fish of 2013. 19" 1.5 lb Chain Pickerel. Felt kind of bad. It swallowed the front treble on a KVD 1.0 square bill crank bait and I had to cut the hook off the lure. He swam away freely though.

Comments

  • Fished here from shore several times and once in my canoe never a bass yet. Plenty of pickles though lol.

  • Yeah, they treated it a couple of years ago but it is starting to grow in heavy again. I do like the pond though.

  • Not too bad at this point weedwise. Use weedless jigs and rigs. Or shallow diving crankbaits. No emergent vegetation yet.

  • Thought of going there today. May give it a shot tomorrow. Fishing from that dock is tough, very limited. Weeds on every cast?
